GETTY Staff is seeking authorization to solicit bids for the General Obligation Bond Demolition
Ward 3 Project, Contract No. 154-D-GO-11-05-07, using Plans and Specification to be prepared by
JOHN A. the City's Community Development Office. There are eight (7) houses and five (5) garages
KINCAID scheduled for demolition in this project to be listed as Base and Alternate Bids. The property

It is anticipated that the estimated cost of this contract will exceed the $25,000 threshold;
therefore, a public hearing is required.

It is recommended that Council authorize bid solicitation on October 8,2007, appropriately
publish/advertise the bid solicitation, and set October 22,2007, as the Bid Opening date, and
November 5,2007 for the Bid Award date of the contract to the lowest qualified bidder. Staff
will solicit bids from no fewer than three (3) qualified firms.
