PROPOSAL REQUEST FOR
ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR
WATERLOO PUBLIC MARKET ENERGY EFFICIENT UPGRADES
Waterloo Leisure Services is seeking proposals for architectural services for The Waterloo Public Market,
327 W. 3rd, Waterloo, Iowa.
Sealed proposals are due 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, December 7, 2010, to the City Clerk at her office at
City Hall, 715 Mulberry Street, Waterloo, Iowa 50703, and will be opened at 1:30 PM that day.
Sealed proposals must be submitted on the Waterloo Leisure Services Bid Form below. The City
of Waterloo reserves the right to reject any and/or all quotes.
When submitting proposal, please note on the lower, left hand corner of envelope:
►Public Market Energy Upgrades
Proposal shall include:
• Design
• Construction Documents
• Oversight of project during construction
• Assist in Development of Energy Efficient Community Block Grant Strategy and Documents
• Design to be in compliance with U.S. Department of Energy Grant No. DE SC0003335
Leisure Services has a project budget of $200,000.00 (to include architect fees) for the Public Market
Energy Efficient and Conservation Upgrades which includes but not limited to:
• Replacement of single pane windows
• Glass vestibules at North and East entrances
• Insulated partitions throughout the building's interior for maximum efficiency.
• An option for alternative energy source attached to structure.
Potential building use: food distribution area.
Financial terms will not be the sole determining factor in the award. Architect services and experience
with City of Waterloo Codes and Buildings will be a consideration also.
