Re: Request for Bids
REGNALD A. I am requesting authorization to purchase a 2010 ambulance using the bid we

Warr/i previously used to purchase our last one. We have bond money slated for the
purchase this fiscal year.

COI E We received delivery on our 2010 Freightliner chassis in April. The Freightliner
Ward dealer was the only bid we received at that time. Freightliner is telling us that they
HAROLD would honor this same price if we can reuse that same bid.

War` 3 As of October 20,2009 the price of that chassis will increase at a minimum of
QUENTIN M. $8000.00. This is due to new emissions standards that will be implemented at that
HART time. The cost for the chassis we purchased was $72,799.00.

We have received word from Emergency Vehicle Sales that they also would

I ELPER honor the same bid for the modular(patient compartment) if we can place that
Ward 5 order soon. That also was the only bid we received. The price for the modular was
$118,520.00.

GREENWOOD Authorization for this would give us money left over and allow us to purchase the

needed equipment to stock this ambulance. This is something we have always
SIEVE been able to.do in the past. With our last purchase we were unable to purchase
scEBETT any new equipment along with the ambulance due to the unforeseen increase in
At-Large
pricing.
As with everything our cots have aged to the point that we are no longer able to
purchase repair parts for some of the older models. We will need to look at
replacing them and this would assist us in starting that process.
I would like a hearing before council on October 12, 2009.
