SUBJECT: Purchase of(1) One 2010 John Deere 1565 Tractor with attachments.

Recommended City Council Action: Set the date of public hearing on award of bid in the
amount of$29,496.10 for the April 19, 2010 regular City Council meeting.
Summary Statement This unit will be used for mowing and snow removal in the Downtown Area
Maintenance District.
Expenditure Required $29,496.10
Source of Funds General Obligation Bond Funds for Off Road Downtown Area Maintenance
Equipment.

Background Information: This unit would be purchased utilizing State of Iowa DOT bids. The
Iowa DOT Office of Procurement and Distribution seeks competitive bids that are valid for any
government entity in the State of Iowa. This price is lower than any local dealer can provide. Unit
would be purchased directly from John Deere at the corporate level but delivered by Waterloo
Implement.
