SUBJECT: Request Approval - Recycling Services

Recommended City Council Action: Seeking Council approval and acceptance of low bid from
Cedar Valley Recycling&Transfer Company for the hauling, sorting and marketing of the
recyclables collected by Waste Management Dept curbside recycling program.
Summary Statement: The Cedar Valley Recycling&Transfer Company(CVRT)will supply two
open topped walking floor trailers for the collection and hauling of recyclables at the rate of
$150.00 per switch out. Both trailers will have solid floors and walls and be equipped with a tarp
system for transport. CVRT will accept material at the rate of$22.50 per ton for recycling. All
items listed on the RFP will be accepted and sorted. Weights will be recorded and paid at the rate
of 30 percent of market rates.
