RE: Sealed RFP for Recycling Services
Cedar Valley Recycling&Transfer (CVR'f) would like to submit a proposal for the
hauling, sorting, and marketing of the recyclables collected by the Waterloo Waste
Management curbside recycling program.
CVRT will supply two open topped walking floor trailers for the collection and hauling
of recyclables at the rate of$150 per switch out. These trailers will be hauled to CVRT
for processing and weighed using CVRT certified scale. Both trailers will have solid
floors and walls and be equipped with a tarp system for transport. CVRT will be able to
switch trailers out within 48 hours or less from the time we are notified by an authorized •
person.
All recyclables will then be sorted and.processed for marketing. Weights ofindividual
products will be determined after sorting and recorded for documentation and payment.
CVRT will accept material at the rate of$22.50 per ton for recycling. All items listed on
• the RFP: tin & bi-metal cans, cardboard, newspaper, magazines, 1-7 plastic containers,
and office paper will be accepted and sorted. Weights will be recorded and paid at the
rate of 30 percent of market rates. Fiber products will be paid based on the "Official
Board Markets Yellow Sheet". Other items will be priced using the next best available
market quotes.
This payback is based on the city presorting the material to remove most of the waste
including general garbage and yard waste.
All other insurance and record keeping information will be provided as requested.
Included is a spreadsheet of the approximate payout based on approximate tonnages and
current markets.
