Please find attached three (3) copies of a Memorandum of Understanding for grant
scan writing services by the Iowa Northland Regional Council of Governments (INRCOG) in
JORDAN conjunction with the above referenced project. The deadline for this CMAQ grant is
on October 1, 1997. Please note that INRCOG will be paid only if this grant is funded.

ANDERS Under this application, improvements will be made at the Flammang intersection,
'N air/ and four sets of slip ramps will be added from Penneys Drive to Kimball Avenue. The
rc;r slip ramps will relieve the congestion at the intersections where most of the problems
COLLIER occur. These improvements represent the need to accommodate the projected
Ward.3 traffic volumes for the year 2005.

KRIZEK With the continued development in this area, we are rapidly reaching the 2005 traffic
',laird; volumes. Therefore, in order to relieve the congestion along San Marnan Drive, the
appropriate modifications must be made. The total project cost is approximately

{_rt� N z_FF $1,650,000.00. This grant will require a 20% local match of $330,000.00. If funded, the

_L,r authorizing INRCOG to prepare and submit this CMAQ application on behalf of the
City of Waterloo. This project was reviewed and approved by the Public Works
Committee on September 15, 1997. This item will be placed on the next regularly
scheduled City Council meeting on Monday, September 22, 1997.
