ward 1 E. 6TH STREET STORM PUMP STATION IMPROVEMENTS

Ward 2 Transmitted herewith is the Professional Services Agreement with Claassen Engineering for the
HAROLD final design of the improvements to the E. 6th Street storm pump station.

Ward 3 The pump station was built in 1949 with two large pumps. When the levees were constructed,the
Corps of Engineers incorporated the pump station into the flood control system. Since that time,
(OHN A. the two original pumps failed,and several years ago the Waste Management Department removed
KINCAID them and placed one small pump in the station. For the last five years,the Corps of Engineers has
IN"`f shown on their annual report that the pumping capacity of the station to be deficient and that the
RON City needed to correct this. The agreement with Claassen Engineering is to provide final plans and
WELPER construction documents to bring the pump station back to the original capacity.
Ward 5
Compensation for services of this Agreement will be on fixed cost and other direct expenses in
BOB effect at the time the services are performed. Cost for the services is twenty-two thousand Dollars

At-Large ($22,000.00),and shall not be exceeded without authorization of the City. This Agreement will be
funded from current G.O. Bond Funds.

GUNDERSON The Engineering Department have reviewed this Agreement and recommend that the City Council
At-Large approve it and authorize the Mayor to execute it. Please return one of the two executed
Agreements to the Engineering Department.
