SUBJECT: U.S. HIGHWAY 63 IMPROVEMENTS - SUPPLEMENTAL
AGREEMENT NO. 3

Recommended City Council Action:
Approve Supplemental Agreement No. 3 with project consultant-AECOM and authorize Mayor
to sign and enter into an agreement.
Summary Statement
Supplemental Agreement No. 3 is for final design of a four-lane roadway on Highway 63,
including additional turning lanes at intersections, from Newell/Conger Street to Donald Street.
Other major roadway elements include replacement and relocation of the water main, replacement
of the sanitary sewer, design of a new storm sewer system, new recreational trail along the west
side, new sidewalk along the east side, new traffic signals and lighting along corridor, and
enhancements and landscaping.
This agreement is available in the City Clerk's office if you wish to review it in its entirety.
Expenditure Required $594,700
Source of Funds
Federal Aid Funding-$475,760 and Local Match with Local Option Sales Tax Funding-$118,940

Background Information:
The Highway 63 Improvements is a joint project between the City and the Iowa Depaianient of
Transportation. The Corridor Study and Initial Design Phase work have been completed and the
project is now ready to enter the Final Design Phase.
