US 63 Corridor Study—Donald St. to US 218
Dear Mayor Rooff:
I'm pleased to inform you that the Iowa DOT has approved funding support in the
amount of $50,000 toward a study of the US 63 corridor in Waterloo. It is my
understanding that this study will provide for the evaluation of US 63 traffic and potential
roadway improvements, impacts on adjacent residential areas, and compatibility with the
City's plans for redevelopment in the central business district.
The specific scope of work undertaken for this study is to be determined by the Project
Steering Committee. I've asked District Transportation Planner, Rod Larsen, to be the
DOT's representative on this Committee. Project recommendations resulting from this
study will require additional program approval prior to any DOT financial participation in
subsequent improvements
Please review the enclosed cooperative agreement between the City and the DOT. If it
meets your approval, please sign and return it so the study can be initiated.
