RESOLUTION NO. 2026-519
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH
MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY, OF DES MOINES,
IOWA, IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $50,806.54, TO
INSTALL UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION
FACILITIES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2026
PARKVIEW MANOR AND W. 3RD STREET DETENTION
BASIN PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. 1137, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is undertaking the FY 2026 Parkview Manor
and W. 3rd Street Detention Basin Project, Contract No. 1137; and
WHEREAS, installation of underground electric distribution facilities is necessary in
conjunction with the project; and
WHEREAS, MidAmerican Energy Company, of Des Moines, Iowa, has submitted an
agreement for the installation of underground electric distribution facilities in the estimated
amount of $50,806.54; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that approval of the agreement is in the best interests
of the City of Waterloo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The agreement with MidAmerican Energy Company, of Des Moines, Iowa, in the
estimated amount of $50,806.54, for installation of underground electric distribution facilities in
conjunction with the FY 2026 Parkview Manor and W. 3rd Street Detention Basin Project,
Contract No. 1137, is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of September 2026.
