RESOLUTION NO. 2026-495
RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE NECESSITY AND
SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS OCTOBER 19,
2026, TO APPROVE THE CASTLE HILL URBAN RENEWAL
PLAN, AND SETTING DATE OF CONSULTATION WITH
TAXING ENTITIES AS OCTOBER 2, 2026, AND INSTRUCT
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa has caused a proposed Castle Hill Urban
Renewal Plan to be prepared; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it necessary and appropriate to consider approval of
the Plan and establishment of the Castle Hill Urban Renewal Area; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 403 of the Code of Iowa, the City Council is required to
consult with affected taxing entities and conduct a public hearing prior to acting on the proposed
Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The City Council hereby determines that it is necessary and appropriate to consider
approval of the Castle Hill Urban Renewal Plan and establishment of the Castle Hill Urban
Renewal Area.
2. Consultation with the affected taxing entities regarding the proposed Castle Hill Urban
Renewal Plan shall be held on October 2, 2026.
3. A public hearing on the proposed Castle Hill Urban Renewal Plan is hereby set for, is
hereby set for October 19, 2026.
4. The City Clerk is directed to publish notice of said public hearing as required by law.
