RESOLUTION NO. 2026-518
RESOLUTION APPROVING A STREET LIGHTING
AGREEMENT WITH MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY,
OF DES MOINES, IOWA, IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF
$13,342.64, TO INSTALL STREETLIGHTS IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE FY 2026 PARKVIEW MANOR AND W. 3RD
STREET DETENTION BASIN PROJECT, CONTRACT NO.
1137, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is undertaking the FY 2026 Parkview Manor
and W. 3rd Street Detention Basin Project, Contract No. 1137; and
WHEREAS, installation of streetlights is necessary in conjunction with the project; and
WHEREAS, MidAmerican Energy Company, of Des Moines, Iowa, has submitted a
Street Lighting Agreement for the installation of streetlights in the estimated amount of Thirteen
Thousand Three Hundred Forty -Two and 64/100 Dollars ($13,342.64); and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that approval of the Street Lighting Agreement is in
the best interests of the City of Waterloo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Street Lighting Agreement with MidAmerican Energy Company, of Des Moines,
Iowa, in the estimated amount of $13,342.64, for installation of streetlights in conjunction with
the FY 2026 Parkview Manor and W. 3rd Street Detention Basin Project, Contract No. 1137, is
hereby approved.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of September 2026.
