RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A HIGHWAY SAFETY
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM GRANT FROM THE IOWA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $220,000.00, FOR THE INSTALLATION OF GROOVED -IN
THERMOPLASTIC STOP LINE AND CROSSWALK
PAVEMENT MARKINGS AT THIRTY-SIX INTERSECTIONS
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS the Iowa Department of Transportation has awarded the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, a Highway Safety Improvement Program grant in the amount of $220,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used for the installation of grooved -in thermoplastic
stop line and crosswalk pavement markings at thirty-six intersections within the City of
Waterloo; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that acceptance of the grant will enhance traffic
safety and improve the visibility and durability of pavement markings at the identified
intersections.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. The Highway Safety Improvement Program grant from the Iowa Department of
Transportation, in the amount of $220,000.00, for the installation of grooved -in thermoplastic
stop line and crosswalk pavement markings at thirty-six intersections, is hereby accepted.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
