RESOLUTION NO. 2026-533
RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS
OCTOBER 19, 2026, TO APPROVE A REQUEST BY THE
CITY OF WATERLOO TO VACATE 959 SQUARE -FEET OF
CITY -OWNED RIGHT-OF-WAY IN THE "C-2"
COMMERCIAL DISTRICT AND "R-2" ONE AND TWO-
FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT, LOCATED AT 1130
ANSBOROUGH AVENUE, AND INSTRUCT THE CITY
CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has requested the vacation of approximately 959
square feet of City -owned right-of-way located at 1130 Ansborough Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the subject right-of-way is located within the "C-2" Commercial District
and "R-2" One and Two -Family Residence District; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it appropriate to hold a public hearing concerning the
proposed vacation of said City -owned right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, notice of the public hearing must be published in accordance with
applicable law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. A public hearing is hereby set for October 19, 2026, on the request by the City of
Waterloo to vacate approximately 959 square feet of City -owned right-of-way located at 1130
Ansborough Avenue, in the "C-2" Commercial District and "R-2" One and Two -Family
Residence District.
2. The City Clerk is directed to publish notice of said public hearing as required by law.
