Question from Eric Frost (Bergen PHC) at 03:12 PM on 12/13/2019
The plans call for 10' of stainless piping to be provided before tying into the PVC sewer for the trench drains and 1 floor sink. The style of stainless pipe
that is allowed underground via the AHJ does not have wye fittings available. They do make the Tees for this pipe, however, Tees are not allowed
underground in Waterloo. There is an option to custom order or have wye's specially made for this pipe but that could turn into a timing and cost issue.
The alternate options that we have discussed would be either cast iron piping to cover these 3 10' runs or chemical resistant CPVC. Both items would
be rated to handle the high temp of the dishwasher discharge. The cast iron pipe would provide a small deduct in price where as the chemical resistant
CPVC would be about a wash in pricing.

The contractor shall use CPVC in lieu of stainless steel for the three (3) 10' runs of piping that require a higher temperature resistance immediately
downstream of the drain.
