A University of Northern Iowa professor contacted me via e-mail and
wanted to meet about environmental issues. I declined and asked
that materials be submitted electronically or in writing, which they
were. Community Energy Solutions invited the entire council to an
anti-coal plant session, which I did not attend. They sent a large
packet of information to my home on Thursday(Ld- U Q -)
This information, along with other pro and con communication, has
been forwarded to the city clerk for the record.
I did not receive any campaign contributions from known Community
Energy Solutions members or LS Power.
I work with one of the founders of Cedar Valley Progress.
I, and 60 other individuals from a variety of professions, attended one
of their seminars at the Waterloo Center for the Arts. The specifics of
this project were not discussed. To my knowledge, I was the only
council member there. There was no attempt to lobby me.
I am married to a member of the Waterloo Planning and Zoning
Commission, and I work with a member of the same commission. All
of us keep our own counsel on issues that go far beyond the scope of
this discussion.
The city attorney is a minority stockholder in the company at which I
am employed.
No one from LS Power has attempted to contact me before or since
last year's hearing.
