Dear Kirin,
Attached you will find the estimate I wrote for the repairs for the water damage that occurred
at 415 Commercial Street, Waterloo, Iowa.
In completing the estimate to replace the carpeting in the top floor office, it was necessary to
take 10% depreciation since our policy issues based on an actual cash value basis.
No depreciation was taken on the remainder of the estimate since it consisted of repairs to
the ceiling tile and carpeting, not entire replacements. For the area that was next to the
magnifier, I considered replacing the area and putting a contrasting border around it so it
could be used as a "sitting" area, and this will give the appearance that it is meant to be
different.
I included the cost of the books lost, the water extraction and the magnifying machine.
Once you have a chance to review, if this is acceptable to you, please return the enclosed
release, and payment will be submitted.
If you have any concerns or documentation that the cost is different than the submitted
estimate, please return that information in the enclosed envelope for our review.
