CAROLYN Traffic Safety Improvements
NE Award of Contract: Traffic Safety Funds Grant
HAROLD Dear Mayor Hurley and Council Members,
GETTY
Ward 3
One sealed bid was received and opened at the Council meeting on August
QUENTIN M. 10, 2009. The bidder, KWS, Inc. of Cedar Falls, Iowa, had submitted the bid
HART for $94,784.00. The consultant's estimate of costs was $109,000.00.
Ivard 4
RON Due to a mathematical discrepancy, we recalculated the total bid price based
WELPER on the unit bid prices as per City's Notice to Bidders. The new amount is
War,'5 $1,008.00 lower than the bidder's submitted price.
BOB
GREENWOOD We are asking that the council accept the low bid and award a contract to
At-Lar\e KWS, Inc. in the lower amount of $93,782.00. The costs are 100% covered
by a state DOT grant fund.
STEVE
SCHMITT
At-Lar c This item is scheduled to be on the August 24, 2009 council agenda.
Sincerely,
