RESOLUTION NO. 2014-319 RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION WITH C AND S PROPERTIES, LLC FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS ON THE EXPANSION AND REMODEL OF BUSINESS VALUED AT $1,363,415.00 FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 812 WASHINGTON STREET IN THE CONSOLIDATED URBAN REVITALIZATION AREA (LURA), IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO, BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IOWA. WHEREAS, C and S Properties, LLC has submitted an application dated April 22, 2014 to the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, requesting to receive tax exemptions on the expansion and remodel of business valued at $1,363,415.00 for property located at 812 Washington Street, more fully described as follows: The East 125 feet of Lot 14, except the North 135 feet in McLendon Addition in Black Hawk County, Iowa and The Southeast 22.4 feet of Lot 8 and all of Lot 9 in Auditor Francis Baker Addition to the City of Waterloo, Iowa and All of Block 5 in Does Addition to the City of Waterloo, Iowa, except that part to the City of Waterloo as described in CLD B 635 P 910 and Lot 1 and Lot 2 and the Southeast 30 feet of Lot 3, all in Block 6, Does Addition to the City of Waterloo, Iowa and The Northwest 30 feet of Lot 3, Lot 4 and Lot 5 all in Block 6 and the vacated alley adjacent to said lots in Does Addition to the City of Waterloo, Iowa Exempt from Revenue Stamps, Declaration of Value and Groundwater Hazard Statement pursuant to 428A.1 (15); and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the designated Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area (LURA) in Waterloo, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and, WHEREAS, the new construction project respecting said property is in conformance with the Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area (LURA) Plan as officially adopted by the City Council for the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and WHEREAS, the new construction on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible for the tax exemption as set forth in the Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area (CURA) Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa, and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting the following three- year exemption schedule: For the first year 100% For the second year 100% For the third year 100% Resolution No. 2014-319 Page 2 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that said application is hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward said application and a copy of this resolution to the Assessor.
