RESOLUTION NO. 2014-105 RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE USE OF METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM FUNDS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A TRAIL ALONG SHAULIS ROAD IN WATERLOO, IOWA. WHEREAS, the Black Hawk County Metropolitan Area has been developing a network of multi -use, non -motorized trails for several years; and WHEREAS, development of a multi -use trail along Shaulis Road is an important component of this trail network; and WHEREAS, the trail route runs along Shaulis Road from the existing trail terminus at Hawkeye Road to Isle of Capri Boulevard; and WHEREAS, funding assistance is available through the Black Hawk County Metropolitan Area Transportation Policy Board's Metropolitan Transportation Alternatives Program and the City of Waterloo is in need of such assistance in order to fully develop this trail; and WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo trail is within its jurisdiction public use, and further that the jurisdictional responsibility and multi -use trail for a minimum of 20 certifies that this multi -use and will remain dedicated to City of Waterloo will have will adequately maintain the years. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the City endorses said project, and that with assistance of Metropolitan Transportation Alternatives Program funds, the further development of the multi -use trail will be completed, dedicated to public use, and adequately maintained as defined above.
