Members present: Lind, Schmitt, Morrissey, Welper. Absent: Cole, Jones, and Hart.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Schmitt that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Four. Motion carried.
Appeal by Anthony D. Haugebak for a Taxi -cab Driver's License.
Suzy Schares, City Clerk, explained that the license was denied due to false information being
provided on the application. The applicant has had his driver's license revoked and the
application said he had not and all criminal convictions were not reported.
Tony Haugebak, 2516 Ashland Ave., Cedar Falls, Iowa, explained that the error was a Scribner's
error as he believed the question related to his chauffeurs license being suspended and it has not.
Mr. Morrissey questioned the applicant's criminal history.
The City Clerk reviewed the process for applicant review conducted by the Police Department
and the City Clerk's Office.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Schmitt to close the hearing. Ayes: Four. Motion carried.
Moved by Lind, seconded by Morrissey to reverse the decision of the City Clerk and approve the
taxi driver's license application for Anthony D. Haugebak. Ayes: Three. Nays: One (Schmitt).
Motion carried.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Welper, seconded by Schmitt
that the meeting be adjourned at 5:06 p.m. Ayes: Four. Motion carried.
