Members present: Jones, Morrissey, Schmitt
Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Morrissey that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Morrissey to table request by House of Hope for interest in 519
E. 3rd Street for future project until January 12, 2015. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Kim Kantrell, House of Hope, explained that House of Hope has not received the guidelines for
the proposal from the Planning Department.
Noel Anderson, Community Planning and Development Director, asked to table the item for one
month and noted that he will get the guidelines out very soon.
Mr. Morrissey questioned if both projects would tear down the property.
David Deeds, JSA Development, explained that his proposal would renovate the existing
structure and that they would then offer to lease it to the House of Hope.
Ms. Kantrell explained that the House of Hope project would require demolition of the existing
structure.
Ms. Cole expressed concern with the process and the treatment of the House of Hope.
Mr. Hart expressed concern with the City's failure to disseminate the requirements.
Greg Kantrell expressed concern with the proposal from JSA Development.
Moved by Morrissey, seconded by Schmitt to authorize request by Lindsey Troyna to purchase a
city owned vacant lot formerly 1135 Magnolia Parkway for $3,000 with Development
Agreement. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Chris Western, Planner II, explained that the offer is less than the assessed value but the
development will generate additional property taxes.
With no further business before the Council, it was moved by Schmitt, seconded by Jones that
the meeting be adjourned at 5:13 p.m. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
