Members present: Cole, Schmitt, Lind Morrissey, Welper. Absent: Jones, Hart.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Schmitt that the Agenda, as proposed or amended, be approved.
Ayes: Five. Motion carried.
FY16 Budget Review Session
Michelle Weidner, Chief Financial Officer, reviewed the tax revenue impact of property
valuation changes. Council discussed the property tax rollback and state backfill. Several options
were discussed that added additional personnel and other line item amendments.
Mayor Clark explained the unintended consequence for a 10 % reduction would be a reduction in
revenue.
Mr. Lind recommended reducing travel by 50%, raising liability insurance deductibles, bidding
out the insurance, and reducing $117,000 from the animal control budget. He expressed concern
with the sustainability of employee salary expenses.
Mr. Schmitt asked for a list of overall vacancies in positions.
Mr. Morrissey asked for the Mayors budget.
With no further business before the Council, it was moved by Welper, seconded by Schmitt that
the meeting be adjourned at 4:56 p.m. Ayes: Five. Motion carried.
