Members present: Schmitt (arrived after roll call), Jones (arrived at 4:40 p.m.), Lind, Morrissey,
Welper, and Hart. Absent: Cole.
Moved by Hart, seconded by Morrissey that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved.
Update on progress of new housing on the East and West side of Waterloo by Black Hawk
Contracting & Development Co.
John Rooff, Black Hawk Contracting & Development Co., explained that his company has built
almost 8.5 million dollars in new homes and there are approximately 6.6 million dollars in
additional homes to be built. Their goal is to work primarily in Waterloo. 70% of the homes they
have built are in Waterloo. He gave an update on lots that are currently being developed.
Mr. Welper questioned the average square footage of the homes being built.
Mr. Rooff explained that the homes are between 1175 and 1300 sq. ft. ranches and two stories.
They all have full basements and garages.
With no further business before the Council, it was moved by Hart, seconded by Schmitt that the
meeting be adjourned at 4:45 p.m. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
