Members present: Cole, Schmitt (arrived at 3:48 p.m.), Lind, Morrissey, Welper. Absent: Jones,
Hart.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the Agenda, as proposed or amended, be approved.
Ayes: Five. Motion carried.
Consolidated Dispatch 28E Agreement
Dan Trelka, Director of Safety Services, explained the current agreement for consolidated
dispatch. He suggested passing the proposed 28E agreement but noted that he will be researching
all possible options for future years. He will bring options to Council before next budget season.
Budget Process Discussion
Michelle Weidner, Chief Financial Officer, reviewed the valuation trends. The total assessed
values have risen slightly but there has been a slight decrease in taxable value due to the
rollback. The tax levy trends and property tax trends were reviewed. The general fund balance,
revenue trends and were reviewed. It was suggested that all budget ideas be submitted to the
finance no later than February 19th to allow staff to put them together and distribute them to staff
and Council prior to the public hearing. The hope is to have the budget hearing the week of
March 2nd.
With no further business before the Council, it was moved by Welper, seconded by Morrissey
that the meeting be adjourned at 4:18 p.m. Ayes: Five. Motion carried.
