Members present: Chairperson Welper, Hart, Jones, Schmitt, Lind, and Morrissey. Absent:
Cole.
Moved by Hart, seconded by Schmitt that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six.
Motion carried.
Clerk II
Moved by Hart, seconded by Jones that request for authorization to begin the Civil Service
process for Clerk II, be approved. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
Mr. Schmitt questioned the difference between a Clerk I and a Clerk II.
Mr. Morrissey and Mr. Lind questioned if this is a request to fill a vacancy or just to start the
Civil Service process.
Suzy Schares, City Clerk, explained the Civil Service process and the difference between the two
positions. This request is just to begin the process, not to fill a vacancy.
Information Technology Director
Mr. Jones questioned whether it would be better to analyze the need for a director versus
outsourcing all or some of the functions prior to advertising for a director.
Mayor Clark explained that a director is needed to manage any outsourcing.
Moved by Jones, seconded by Lind to table the request for authorization to begin the recruitment
process for Information Technology Director and make an appointment for one week. Ayes:
Six. Motion carried.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Hart, seconded by Schmitt that
the meeting be adjourned at 5:12 p.m. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
