Members present: Hart, Cole, Jones, Schmitt, Morrissey, and Welper. Absent: Lind.
Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six.
Motion carried.
Amendments to comply with EPA Streamlining Rule were discussed.
Larry Smith, Waste Management Superintendent, explained that the amendments are being
requested to comply with the EPA streamlining rule.
Mr. Schmitt questioned if this requires the business owners to report or the City.
Mr. Smith explained that it requires the business owners to report more and the City to test more.
The City will be contacting all businesses to determine the needs based on the changes.
Mr. Morrissey questioned why the definitions of non-compliance were removed and asked if this
affects the positions being requested.
Mr. Smith explained that this does not affect the requested positions except that this will give
them more work.
It was the consensus of the committee to place this ordinance change on next week's council
agenda.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Schmitt, seconded by Welper
that the meeting be adjourned at 5:04 p.m. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
