HomeMy WebLinkAbout01.20.2015ORDINANCE COMMITTEE January 20, 2015 5:00 p.m. Harold E. Getty Council Chambers Members present: Cole, Jones, Schmitt, Lind, Morrissey, and Welper. Absent: Hart. Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Cole that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six. Motion carried. Repeal Title 3, Chapter 3, Section 3 (3-3-3): Shooting Galleries, in its entirety. Dan Trelka, Director of Safety Services, explained that this is part of a process to clean up Title 3. This ordinance is outdated and is no longer needed. Amend City Code 3-1-6 (After Hours Establishments) and renumber the newly amended 3-1-6 as 3-3-3. Dan Trelka, Director of Safety Services, explained that this ordinance is being renumbered to fall in line with the other business licenses. This amendment gives the City the authority to regulate the applicants and put them more in line with liquor licensed establishments. Mr. Schmitt questioned if a shooting range would fall under the shooting gallery ordinance. Mr. Trelka explained that this ordinance change will apply the same standards as a liquor licensed establishment. Shooting ranges would be regulated by other ordinances. Mr. Lind clarified that after hours clubs do not need a liquor license because patrons bring their own alcohol. With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Cole, seconded by Schmitt that the meeting be adjourned at 5:09 p.m. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
