Members present: Chairperson Welper, Jacobs, Morrissey, Powers, Lind, Amos, and Schmitt.
Absent: Lind
Mr. Morrissey arrived at 5:10 p.m.
Moved by Schmitt seconded by Amos that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Five.
Motion carried.
Moved by Amos seconded by Powers that request from Public Works Director for authorization
to appoint one (1), Equipment Operator I, from the current Civil Service List, be approved. Roll
call vote -Ayes: Five. Nays: One (Schmitt). Motion carried.
Mr. Schmitt questioned how long the position has been open.
Mark Rice, Public Works Director explained the position has been open since December 2016.
Mr. Schmitt questioned the critical nature of the position.
Mark Rice explained this is a very critical position for snow and ice control and the summer
maintenance crew also relies on this position.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Schmitt seconded by Morrissey
that the meeting be adjourned at 5:11 p.m. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
