ORDINANCES TO BE ADOPTED 106415 - Al Levy, 902 Sheridan and representing the Pawnbrokers Association, thanked the Police Department, Mayor and Council and Clerk's office for all the effort put into this document. The association is concerned with Sec. 23-26, Holding Period, of the ordinance. Sec. 23-26 requires any item pawned not to be sold for sixty (60) days from the date the item was received by the pawnbroker. However, an individual may redeem the item pawned during or after thirty (30) days at the discretion of the pawnbroker. Mr. Potter also requested that they be allowed to post purple ribbons for thirty days on telephone poles and fences in memory of the death of a classmate. Mayor Rooff stated that the tragic death saddened everyone, and he approved of the ribbons being placed on the poles and fences.
