Wenzel indicated that the change would occur forty-five to sixty days after the agreement is signed. It was moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Jordan to receive and place on file the letter of opposition from Randy Herod. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried. 106250 - Scott Jaquith, 810 Cornwall, stated his opposition to the proposed change. Jaquith feels C -Span provides needed insight into the actions of the national government. He agrees with Mollenhoff's statement that the Weather Channel is a duplication of service. Pierre Denault, 205 Lovejoy, reported that when this item was placed before the cable commission he went along with it with reservations. He feels public access should be commercial free in compliance with statutory regulations. As a member of the Cable Commission it hasn't been his experience that the general public is requesting the Weather Channel and he doesn't feel this accommodation is the right road to go down. Mollenhoff/Jordan that "Resolution approving the sharing of Cable Channel 9 by C -SPAN from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and The Weather Channel from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00. a.m. and grant a waiver to allow nationally originated'.. advertising on The Weather Channel", be adopted.
