Members present: Getty, Krizek, Jordan, Mollenhoff.
Members absent: Murphy, Collier, Anders.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Mollenhoff that the Agenda, as
proposed, be approved. Ayes: Four. Absent: Murphy, Collier,
Anders.
Bruce Meisinger, Finance Manager, reviewed the F.Y. 1998 Budget.
Mr. Meisinger explained the FY98 Proposed Budget Comparison
worksheet. Police Operations proposed budget includes funding for
the thirteen police officers who were paid by a grant and now must
be funded by the city. The Fire Department's budget includes
reopening of Fire Station #6 at an additional cost of $360,000,
which includes hiring seven new firefighters and three firefighters
who are currently used at the Airport. The Wastewater Treatment
Facility budget is set at $13,000,000 which includes construction
at the Easton Avenue Plant.
The approximate FY 1998 Budget is $98,000,000. The goal of the
administration is to present a budget with a total tax levy rate of
$18.50 per thousand dollars of property value. A public hearing on
the FY 1998 Budget will be held on Monday, March 10, 1997 at 7:00
p.m.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by
Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the meeting be adjourned at 4:59
p.m. Ayes: Four. Absent: Murphy, Collier, Anders. Motion
carried.

Agenda items for the council meeting to be held on Monday, March 3,
1997, were reviewed and discussed with representatives from
departments that have items on the agenda.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by
Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the meeting be adjourned at 4:45
p.m. Ayes: Four. Absent: Murphy, Collier, Anders. Motion
carried.
