ORAL PRESENTATIONS
The Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, met for Oral Presentations at City
Hall Council Chambers, Waterloo, Iowa, at 6:45 p.m., on Monday, September 21,
1998. Mayor Pro Tem Jerry Anders in the Chair. Roll Call: Getty, Murphy,
Jordan, Gronen, Collier, Anders. Absent: Krizek.
110983 - Tom Hall, reported that he was standing on the corner of 5th and Washington
Streets as a police car with its lights and sirens on was coming down Washington
Street. Vehicles would not yield to the police car, and Mr. Hall feels it is
because they are listening to their boom boxes with earphones. Mr. Hall stated
that he feels the boom boxes should be outlawed, and that the drivers should be
fined.

Moved by Getty, seconded by Murphy that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Seven.
Motion carried.
Roosevelt Taylor updated the council on his recent trip to Cape Town, Africa. Mr. Roosevelt
stated that over ten nations attended the annual International Credit Union meeting in Cape
Town. The event was held over a seven-day period. Mr. Roosevelt shared pictures taken during
his visit. Next year the annual meeting will be held in Sydney, Australia .
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Gronen that the
meeting be adjourned at 5:53 p.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried.
