HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/03/1977March 3, 1977 The Council of City of Waterloo, Iowa, met in Special Session in the Waterloo Recreation Center, Waterloo, Iowa, at 7:00 P.M. on March 3, 1977, pursuant to the following call: TO CITY COUNCILMEN OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA: You are hereby notified that a Special of Waterloo, Iowa, will be held at the Street, in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and that said Special Meeting in being adoption of the Fiscal 1978 Budget. You are further notified that no other mitted at said Meeting. Meeting of the City Council of the City Waterloo Recreation Center, 225 Cedar at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 3, 1977, called for the purpose of a hearing and business except the above will be trans - (Signed) Leo P. Rooff, Mayor Due, timely and legal service of the above notice is hereby accepted this 28th day of February, 1977 by me, a duly elected, qualified and acting Council- man of the City of Waterloo, Iowa. Absent: Dowie and Lichty. 71522 - Moved by Roehr, seconded by Wilharm that Copies of the Call for the Special Meeting of March 3, 1977 at 7:00 P.M. at the Waterloo Recrea- tion Center, be received and placed on file. Motion carried. 71523 - Mayor Rooff thanked the Citizens Budget Advisory Committee for their time and work on the proposed Budget. Moved by Bowers, seconded by Geiger that proof of publication of the Notice of Hearing on the Budget Estimate for the 12 month period of July 1, 1977 through June 30, 1978 for the City of Waterloo, Iowa, be received and placed on file. Motion carried. 71524 - Mayor Rooff announced the time had arrived to hear objections, if any, and called for written and oral objections. The Clerk reported no written objections had been filed. Dwayne Eilers orally objected to the amount of increase proposed for the Council's salary, stating it was too small. Discussed was street repair improvements on Foulk Road, South Cedar Terrace and East Shaulis Road. COUNCILPERSON LICHTY NOW PRESENT. Storm sewer on West Donald Street between Burton Avenue and Logan Avenue was identified as a need but not in five year program; last year's allocation to be granted to Council on Aging; distribution of uncommitted current revenue sharing funds being channeled to public library, when and if received, was discussed. Moved by Roehr, seconded by Bowers that the hearing be adjourned to March 14, 1977 at 7:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, at which time and place a resolu- tion shall be presented to the Council for action thereon adopting the Annual Budget for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 1978, and the Clerk instructed to publish a notice.
