Absent: Seeber and Lichty Invocation by: Father Brunkan, Columbus High School Pledge of Allegiance: Troop *67 - Adrianne Mitchell, Amy Wickstrom, Sara Tarkett, Alicia Brannon 90469 - Moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie that the Agenda, as amended, for the Regular Session of June 1, 1987 at 7:00 p.m., be accepted and approved. Motion carried. 90470 - Moved by Miller, seconded by Dowie that the Minutes of the Regular Session held May 26, 1987 at 7:00 p.m., be approved. Motion carried. ORAL PRESENTATIONS 90471 - Police Chief Roger Shook reported to the City Council that a group of visitors from Finland had just completed a tour of the Police Department and the computer system known as the CJIS System. Shook stated that the group was made up of the Secretary General of the country of Finland and his staff. The group picked the Black Hawk County CJIS System to review because in their opinion it was the best cooperative effort between joint law enforcement services in the country. Shook continued that the visitors were very impressed with the system and also were impressed with the County as a whole. Councilperson Angel stated that the parade Saturday was one of the best that she has ever seen in Waterloo. She continued that she hoped that all citizens of Waterloo would take advantage of the My Waterloo Days celebration. Councilperson Wright stated that she felt the My Waterloo Days parade was a huge success and continued that the parade lended more support to the downtown area. Councilperson Miller stated that he would like to compliment the media on the coverage that they had given to the My Waterloo Days parade. Councilperson Wright stated that she would like to bring to the attention of the Street Department that behind the vacant lot between 1933 and 1959 Franklin Street there is a hole in the alley that could be a hazard to the citizens of the area. Stevenson continued that it is now the recommendation of the Planning, Programming and Zoning staff that this request be approved and no date of public hearing be set. Moved by Miller, seconded by Wright that communication from City Planner transmitting the site plan amendment of Kwik Trip Stores located at the southwest corner of the intersection of U.S. Highway 63 and Fletcher Avenue, zoned "S-1" Shopping Center District be received, placed on file and "Resolution aapproving said minor site plan amendment", be adopted.
